This is a Neocortical Hypercolumn. Each one of us has millions of these structures covering our brain. Every one of these columns is made up of thousands of neurons and each individual neuron is connected chemically in thousands of different places with other neurons in the vicinity. Each neuron is unique in it’s shape and orientation. No two neurons are alike, even within the same brain or the same column.
These structures make up the cerebral cortex of your brain. This is the part that gives you memories, thought, language and consciousness. To say that we’re all unique individuals is a hyperbolic understatement. In reality, we’re so distinctly different from each other it’s incredible we can relate to another person at all.For this reason, being selfish and closed-minded are characteristics of a weak personality. Love, empathy and understanding are among the most incredible accomplishments one could ever hope to achieve.
